WHAT THE CRAP!

What is with this weather? Is it just me or does it feel like winter is just starting all over again? I am so ready for spring, and the "spring" blizzards are driving me nuts! What a crappy way to start the week!! We got about 3 inches of snow, how much snow did everyone else get?

The Furminator!

My Friend Jess got this AWESOME new de-shedding tool called the "Furminator" in the mail this week, so we put it to the test on our furry animals.
This tool was insane! It got sooo much hair off of them, and there was seriously hair all over the yard!

We did it on celeste too, but for some reason I don't have any pictures. But Benders hair was by far more of a challenge.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!!

No I am not talking about chocolate, or even ice cream, but Maternity Pants.

Today I broke down and bought myself a pair of maternity pants. I have been meaning to go pick up a pair, I just really hate buying new pants, and I just couldn't get myself to go get any because it is always such process, they are either too long or waaay too long. But this time I was looking for one thing, and one thing only COMFORT.

We stopped at "Motherhood" the maternity shops of all maternity shops. We started to search through jeans, and I started to get worried, because I was just not seeing anything that I liked. The sales lady kept suggesting these really ugly pants to me, and I didn't know why, and it sort of made me angry. But then I found them, and they had everything I could want in a jean. (except of course the button and zipper) and they were the only one left of its size and color. When I slid those babies on, I knew they were meant to be. I seriously almost started crying, in fact after putting them on, the thought of putting my old jeans on made me cringe. And I started to panic about having to wait to wear them. I cried to my dear more experienced pregnant friend "I don't want to put those back on!" And the sales lady chimed in that I could just take off the tags and wear them home. I wonder if that is an everyday occurrence at Motherhood, or I am just a nut. Either way, I tore those tags off, no hesitation whatsoever.

They are the BEST pants ever, not even my pajama pants are this comfortable!! Before these pants I would get home from work and put my pj's on because I was just done with being uncomfortable for the day. But NO MORE! tonight I wore my pants all the way until bedtime! Who knew I could find a pair of Jeans that I would love so much, I don't know if I will ever go back.

Whats up doc?

So we had our 2nd Doctors appointment today, and I thought for sure that when I stepped on that scale they would say, HOLY COW you have gained 10 lbs already! A new record for pregnant ladies! Because seriously that is how I feel. But nope, all I have gained is a freaking pound! I know my baby is only like 3 inches, but seriously? One pound? How can that even be? I mean I am TOTALLY ok with it only being one pound, I mean really? I am sure I will have a bunch of people read this and be like what a baby, but in my defense I was just certain it would be more than that. For those that can remember, how much did you gain by 12 weeks?

We went in to hear the heart beat, and even though I heard the heart beat a few weeks ago, I was still really nervous. AND I was totally prepared to show my doctor where we had heard it before in the incident he couldn't find it, Paranoid much?
Maybe so, but I have heard of all these stories of people telling me that their doctor searched and searched and pushed and moved the doppler around and around and took forever to finally find it. So, to spare myself the anxiety and stress, I was totally ready to show him where my baby is taking up residence in my womb.

Anyway, I think I was a little too nervous becuase when my doc came in to share the good news that, "Yes! today would be the first day you will hear your baby's heart beat!" I quickly reassured him that we had infact heard it a few weeks ago.

I kinda stole his thunder I think (Kory reaffirmed this to me when we left his office) and I felt bad, but then realized this is not about my doctor, it is about me.

Back to the heartbeat. Anyway he had me lay down on the table, and squeezed some of that gooey gel stuff on my tummy, and said "Your baby's heart beat should be right about here."

And sure enough we heard right away very clear quick beats! So props to our doctor for getting it spot on! And YAY to our little worm for being so cooperative. Our doctor then said "deffinatly a boy!" (which is totally what we think we are having, we would be happy with either, but we have a feeling this little bundle is boy) So my next question is what did your doc tell you, your baby would be, and did it end up being that?

He also reassured me that once you hear that little heartbeat at this stage your baby has a pretty good chance of survival, which I have read and heard a million times before, but hearing it from your doctor for some reason is just that much more reassuring.

Ear infection

I am sick in bed today with a cotton ball in my ear, because I suffering from my first ear infection. I never have had an ear infection in my life until now. I have had little aches here and there, but NEVER has it hurt so bad. I was up all night with sharp pains in my ear. This morning I put garlic oil in my ear, and shoved a cotton ball in it. I am not sure if i put the right amount in or not.
